Venice - flavour

There are certain sights, sounds, smells and tastes that are are of Venice, and nowhere else. I can't capture all these sensations with a camera, although I have tried. So here I have put together a series of images, which to me, say Venice. Each to their own.

Click here to follow a slideshow of larger versions of the images.

Busy waterways

Still mornings

Coloured poles

The smell and taste of coffee

Sounds from secret gardens

Home lifestyle

No road motor vehicle traffic sounds

Cool shady walkways

Bells ringing in the morning

How loud in the campanile

Old and new

Houses with history

Glimpses into the past

The sound and smell of rainy days

The smell of low tide

Each building has its own personality

Whispers in marble halls

The sound of water lapping against gondolas

Echoes along the canals

Soft light leads the way
